Our Aims

The primary aim of Hazel’s Footprints Trust is to help people experience the life-enhancing joys and challenges of working – in a voluntary capacity - with people in less privileged environments around the world.

Hazel herself spent a gap year between school and university working with over 300 kids at the Otjikondo Village School in Namibia, Africa (click here to go to the Otjikondo School website). It was a year that changed her life and her outlook on life – both for the better.

Everyone knows the cliché “Travel broadens the mind”. We believe that people working abroad not only return to the United Kingdom far better and wiser people, but they do so having made a positive contribution to the lives of the people in the area where they have been working. To use common terminology, it’s a win-win situation.

The aims of Hazel’s Footprints Trust:

• To advance education for the public benefit by the provision of financial assistance to people embarking on a period of voluntary work overseas;

• To promote the charitable purposes of the Otjikondo Village School Foundation, Namibia, through the provision of an annual donation;

• To relieve poverty and advance education elsewhere in the world by the provision of occasional grants to educational establishments in impoverished countries.
