We are really pleased to get word last week of the completion of another one of our Third Aim projects, this time in Madagascar.
In summer 2016, Hazel’s Footprints agreed to contribute £10,000 to an excellent high school capital project in the Anosy region in the south of the country. The project was masterminded by SEED Madagascar – formerly Azafady – and builds on two previous projects we’ve worked together on.
The school – Manambaro Lycée – had provision for just 100 pupils a few years ago, but the local need was closer to 400-500 pupils. In addition, the school had no sanitary facilities which made it difficult for pupils, especially girls, to attend. SEED Madagascar put together a plan to address these needs and our contribution went towards the provision of two school buildings and one latrine block for Manambaro Lycée. Hazel’s Footprints Trust was one of several funders involved.
You can read the full report from SEED Madagascar, and see some photos below. We’d like to extend our congratulations to all of those involved.
