A wonderful note has arrived from Wakadogo in Uganda alongside these pictures in the gallery below.
I’m so pleased to tell you that we officially opened the new school library yesterday. It was a very proud moment for the school and was attended by local dignitaries and leaders, headteachers from neighbouring schools, all the staff at Wakadogo School and students from Primary 3 to 6. There were speeches, performances by the students, the official opening ceremony and of course some cake and food for all.
Thank you so much for making this a reality. As you will see, the library building is filled with wonderful books, tables, chairs, bookshelves and computers run by solar power, this has only been possible because of Hazel’s Footprints Trust and our other individual donor who funded the ‘kit out’. We have also hired a librarian whose role it is to champion reading at Wakadogo School.
