Dear All,
I am terribly sorry for the delay in this letter but I guess in all the hubbub of returning and heading off again I thought I had already sent this. Clearly not.
This is just a note to say thank you so much for your support which got me to Thailand. I had the most fantastic year anyone could have hoped for. Although it was a bit of a shock returning to England at first (mostly being able to move without sweating) Im not getting used to it, even if the winter is feeling rather chilly!
Ive only been back a few months and Im already planning my next trip! Im very excited to be taking part in an international Scout camp in Finland next July, so the fundraising cap will be back on. If you would be interested in hearing more about this trip please get in touch.
Over here, I am trying to keep up the skills I learnt in Thailand: I speak Thai if there is ever an opportunity (very rare) and I am putting my planning skills to the test as part of the Service Planning Team for St Georges Day at Windsor Castle. Additionally, I am hoping to use my leadership skills, by returning as a Scout leader.
I have found that on returning I am a much more forward and outgoing person and its helping me very much as I meet new people at university. However, a year out of education has done very little for my study skills!
My last few weeks in Thailand were FANTASTIC. I managed to have a few leaving parties in and around Na Kae, as well as visiting my original project at Mae Sai, which I have been invited back to if I ever want to be a fully-fledged teacher. Everyone has been so kind to me and the country really is the all- welcoming land of smiles. I cant wait to return and see all the fantastic people I met out there and see how theyre all getting on. Im even hoping one day some of my students will be able to come over to the UK themselves.
Anyway, thank you all once again,
Caitlin
