In June 2024, Hazel’s Footprints Trust provided a grant for £9,086 to Aid for Education to build a new classroom at Tubarere Nursery and Primary School. The foundations have been dug; the first bricks have been laid. Such swift progress!
Aid for Education, a Glasgow-based charity, has been working in the Muhazi Sector in the Easter Province of Rwanda since 2010. In 2017, the charity completed new buildings for Tubarere Nursery and Primary School in the Rwamagana community, working alongside their partner charity Children Might Foundation (CMF), a Rwandan NGO. The school now has 300 students from nursery to primary 6. Aid for Education approached us to support their work by funding a much-needed additional classroom for the school. The Trust is also providing the funds needed for furniture.
Update on building works
We are delighted to hear that swift progress is being made on site for the classroom. The builders have already finished the foundations as you can see, and the red bricks have been laid for the walls. The building has really taken shape very quickly indeed!
