Jamie Blaikie: final report on return from Roatan, Honduras

Sunset through the palm trees over the caraibe sea - Roatan island - Honduras.

Jamie Blaikie is just back from a year in Roatan, an island just off Honduras. He’s been teaching in a village school and has done it all with bucket loads of enthusiasm and dedication. He has also formed some fantastic friendships along the way.  Great to hear Jamie!   By Jamie Blaikie I have returned home after my year in Honduras! I am writing this to give thanks to the support you gave me to help me reach the country in the first place. The year […]

Jamie Blaikie: 2nd Report from Roatan, Honduras

Jamie Blaikie is volunteering in beautiful Roatan, Honduras

We are over the 8 month mark. A completely ridiculous thing to think about. For me – Jamie Blaikie – it is such a crazy thought as I have become so invested in the Project and in the teaching and living in Punta Gorda that I can’t imagine how life is going to change when I go back to Scotland. Moreover I can’t imagine life without our wee house, without Merilu’s cooking and without teaching nutter kids every day! Back to Punta Gorda I last wrote […]

The town is utterly beautiful, it is right on the Caribbean Sea, and the […]

Kitty Thomson: 1st report from Honduras

So I’d like to thank them for this as I have already had […]

Footprinter report: Naomi High in Honduras

Time has gone really fast since I wrote the last report and a lot of things have changed. I have changed Host families as we both thought it was a good idea. Due to my long hours I was unable to spend much time with my host family and I was always very tired when I came home. We had different expectations of living/hosting and there were also some cultural difficulties which although we tried to resolve it was agreed it would be better for […]

Footprinter report: Naomi High from Honduras

So I’ve been here in Honduras a few months now and I think I’ve just about got used to living here. The thing that I’ve found about living in a different country with a different culture and language is that you feel like a child again, learning everything from scratch. I remember my first day with everything feeling so surreal and completely new. We were greeted at the airport and went with my host sister of my host family, and staff of the organisation to […]
